The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area includes the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, and the cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, and Zhaoqing in Guangdong Province. These 11 cities within this region covers a total area of 56,000 square kilometers with a resident population of over 86 million.
Transportation and accessibility within this region have allowed for the rapid economic and population growth in recent years. Since 2018, six cross-river and cross-sea channels, including the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, and the Huangmaohai Cross-Sea Channel, have been completed and opened to traffic. Today, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link operates like a public transport system, and Macau's rail transit is connected to Guangdong Province's high-speed rail network. The Greater Bay Area is increasingly resembling a single city, with roads connecting the two sides while "soft connectivity" is also accelerating.
Taking advantage of this, the GBA also allows for a convenient hub for medical exchange and advancement.
The Greater Bay Area Society of Paediatric Urology Limited(GBASPU) has been operating as The Greater Bay Area Society of Paediatric Urology and Continence (GBASPUC) since 2025 to better recognize the growing interest and advancements in Continence care and pelvic floor research in children.
The Greater Bay Area Society of Paediatric Urology and Continence is a public welfare, non-profit society registered in Hong Kong..
